A month of turning points

November twenty twenty-six is a month of turning points in the sky. Both Mercury and Venus end their retrogrades, Venus passes through its sign of debilitation, Mars changes sign, the Sun moves into Scorpio, and the month ends with a full Moon in the Moon's own sign of exaltation. In this video, we go through the month date by date, in the Vedic zodiac, with what the tradition says about each event, and a few simple suggestions for love, money and work. All dates are computed with the Sunyra engine and given in universal time.

The first ten days

We begin with Mercury and Venus both retrograde. This double retrograde began on the twenty-fourth of October. On the fourth of November, Mercury passes between the Earth and the Sun, and for a few days around then it is hidden in the Sun's glare, combust, from about the thirtieth of October to the tenth of November. The tradition reads this as a time to review words, plans and agreements, rather than to sign them. On the fifth of November, or the sixth in India, Venus slips back from Libra into Virgo, its sign of debilitation.

Astrologers read this as love and taste turning practical and critical for a while: noticing flaws, weighing cost. Remember, a debilitated planet is not a curse. On the ninth of November comes the new Moon, in sidereal Libra, at about twenty-three degrees. New Moons are traditionally good for quiet intentions and fresh starts in small things, and this one falls close to the season of Diwali, when many families begin new account books.

The middle of the month

The middle of November is when the sky turns. On the twelfth, Mars leaves Cancer, its sign of debilitation, and enters Leo, where it is much more comfortable. Its long retrograde next year will begin in Leo, on the tenth of January twenty twenty-seven. On the thirteenth, Mercury turns direct, and the double retrograde ends. About eight and a half hours later, on the fourteenth, Venus turns direct as well.

Many astrologers would wait for these two days before signing major contracts, fixing a wedding date, or launching something new. For the careful, Mercury's shadow ends on the thirtieth of November. On the sixteenth, the Sun leaves Libra, its sign of debilitation, and enters Scorpio. After a month in which the Sun has been weak, the tradition sees energy and confidence returning.

The end of the month

On the twenty-second of November, Venus returns to Libra, its own sign. Love, beauty and money matters regain their ease, and the tradition favours repairing and renewing what the retrograde brought up for review. On the twenty-fourth comes the full Moon. The Moon will be in sidereal Taurus, its sign of exaltation, at about eight degrees, and the Sun opposite it in Scorpio. A full Moon in its own exaltation is traditionally read as an emotionally rich, steady moment.

A good night for gratitude, family, and finishing what you started at the new Moon. And in the background, Saturn stays retrograde in Pisces until the tenth of December, Jupiter is now in Leo, and by the true node, Rahu enters Capricorn around the twenty-fifth of November, while the mean node, used by most almanacs, changes on the fifth of December.

How to use the month

So how can you use November? In the first half, review, revise and reconnect. Have honest conversations in person, and read every clause before you sign. After the fourteenth, when Mercury and Venus are both direct, it is a better time to decide, sign and launch. And around the full Moon on the twenty-fourth, rest, gather the family, and give thanks.

As always, these are general tendencies. Your own chart and your dasha decide how each event touches your life.
