Venus comes home

On the twenty-second of November twenty twenty-six, Venus leaves Virgo, the sign where it is weakest, and walks into Libra, its own sign. After a retrograde, a turn, and two weeks of debilitation, the planet of love, beauty and agreement is finally at home. In this video: the exact dates, what Venus in its own sign means, why the sky around it is unusually quiet these weeks, and what the next six weeks may bring for each of the twelve Moon signs.

The dates

Here are the dates, in the sidereal zodiac, computed with the Sunyra engine. Venus enters Libra on Sunday the twenty-second of November, in the evening in India. It stays until the first of January twenty twenty-seven, when it moves into Scorpio late at night in India. That is about six weeks at home. Inside those weeks, a few milestones.

For its first fifteen degrees, Libra is Venus's moolatrikona, its most comfortable stretch, and Venus stays there until the sixteenth of December. On the fifteenth of December, Venus also clears its retrograde shadow, the last degrees it covered while moving backwards. And it moves through three nakshatras: Chitra first, then Swati from the fifth of December, and Vishakha from the twenty-second.

Own sign

What does it mean for Venus to be in its own sign? The tradition compares a planet in its own sign to someone at home: comfortable, self-directed, able to act in its own way. Libra is Venus's airy, movable sign, and astrologers associate Venus here with grace, fairness, diplomacy, beauty and a talent for partnership. Compare that with the last two weeks. In Virgo, astrologers read Venus as love turned practical and critical, noticing flaws and weighing cost.

In Libra, the same planet looks for balance and harmony. The challenge here is a gentler one: indecision, and avoiding conflict that needs to be had. One clarification. Libra is Venus's own sign, not its exaltation. Venus is exalted in Pisces.

But own sign and moolatrikona are both strong, well-placed dignities.

A quiet sky around Venus

Here is something we noticed when we computed these weeks. Venus in Libra receives no aspect from Mars, Jupiter or Saturn. Mars and Jupiter are both in Leo, and their aspects fall on other signs. Saturn in Pisces aspects Taurus, Virgo and Sagittarius. So the aspect from Saturn that weighed on Venus in Virgo ends as Venus changes sign.

And Venus is never close enough to the Sun to be combust. It stays between about thirty-six and forty-seven degrees away. Muhurta texts check exactly this before a wedding date, and as Sunyra's November Lens points out, the wedding season begins after Dev Uthani Ekadashi and runs until Kharmas begins on the sixteenth of December. A strong Venus is one helpful condition. The whole muhurta still has to be read for each couple.

How to read it

To read the transit for yourself, count from your Moon sign: the house Libra falls in is where Venus spends these six weeks. In the classical rule of Phaladeepika, Venus's transit is favourable from the Moon in every house except the sixth, the seventh and the tenth. If you do not know your Moon sign, a free kundli on sunyra.ai shows it. And remember, transits work through your dasha. They describe an emphasis, not a guaranteed event.

Aries to Virgo

Aries Moon: Venus in your seventh. Marriage and partnership take centre stage. Classically a mixed placement, so choose patience over pressure. Taurus Moon: Venus, your ruler, in your sixth. Work relationships, daily habits and wellbeing routines.

A mixed house classically: smooth friction patiently. Gemini Moon: the fifth. Romance, creative work and children, a favourable placement. Cancer Moon: the fourth. Home, comfort, vehicles and your mother.

Favourable for making the home beautiful. Leo Moon: the third. Messages, siblings, hobbies and creative skills, all favoured. Virgo Moon: the second. Money, family and valuables.

After two weeks of Venus on your own Moon, a favourable house for family warmth.

Libra to Pisces

Libra Moon: Venus on your Moon, in the first. Your look, charm and self-worth. Favourable, and a good time to feel at home in yourself. Scorpio Moon: the twelfth. Private life, rest, pleasures and spending.

Favourable, but keep an eye on the budget. Sagittarius Moon: the eleventh. Friends, networks and income, a favourable placement. Capricorn Moon: the tenth. Public image, and work in beauty, design or the arts.

Classically mixed, so let results build steadily. Aquarius Moon: the ninth. Beliefs, teachers, travel and long-distance love, favoured. And Pisces Moon: the eighth. Shared money, intimacy and in-laws, a favourable placement.

Recap

To recap. Venus enters its own sign, Libra, on the twenty-second of November, and stays until the first of January. Its moolatrikona stretch lasts until the sixteenth of December, and it clears its retrograde shadow on the fifteenth. No aspect from Mars, Jupiter or Saturn reaches it, and it is never combust. Favourable for most Moon signs; Aries, Taurus and Capricorn Moons go steadily.
