Jupiter changes sign
Today, the thirty-first of October twenty twenty-six, Jupiter, the great benefic, moves from Cancer into Leo in the Vedic zodiac. Jupiter changes sign only about once a year, and astrologers treat each move as a new chapter: the area of life where growth, wisdom and good fortune are most easily found. In this video: the dates of Jupiter's journey through Leo, including its retrograde, how to read it from your Moon sign, and what it may bring for each of the twelve signs.
The dates
Here are the dates, in the sidereal zodiac. Jupiter entered Cancer, its sign of exaltation, on the first of June twenty twenty-six. On the thirty-first of October it enters Leo. It turns retrograde on the thirteenth of December, slips back into Cancer on the twenty-fourth of January twenty twenty-seven, turns direct on the thirteenth of April, and returns to Leo on the twenty-fifth of June. It then stays in Leo until the twenty-sixth of November twenty twenty-seven, when it enters Virgo.
So Jupiter's time in Leo comes in two parts: from now until late January, and then from late June to late November next year.
How to read it
To read the transit for yourself, count the house Leo falls in from your Moon sign. Classically, Jupiter's transit is favourable in the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh houses from the Moon. Jupiter also aspects the fifth, seventh and ninth houses from itself, so from Leo it looks at Sagittarius, Aquarius and Aries. And as always, transits work through the dasha. A good transit in a quiet dasha may simply feel like a good year.
Aries to Virgo
Aries Moon: Jupiter enters your fifth house. Romance, children, creativity and study come forward, and Jupiter also aspects your Moon sign. One of the best phases of the whole cycle for love and learning. Taurus Moon: the fourth house. Home and inner contentment.
Not on the classical favourable list, but good for patient, practical growth at home. Gemini Moon: the third house. Effort, initiative, writing and short journeys. Steady work pays off more than luck. Cancer Moon: the second house.
Jupiter leaves your Moon sign and supports finances, savings and family. A good time for financial planning. Leo Moon: Jupiter arrives on your Moon sign. Optimism and visibility grow, but the first house from the Moon is not on the classical favourable list, so watch overconfidence. With Saturn in the eighth from your Moon, build slowly.
Virgo Moon: the twelfth house. A quieter, more inward stretch, with expenses, travel, spiritual life and rest, after the gains of Jupiter in Cancer.
Libra to Pisces
Libra Moon: the eleventh house. Gains, recognition and helpful friends. Together with Jupiter's time in Cancer, a strong pair of years for work and income. Scorpio Moon: the tenth house. Work, status and responsibility come forward.
Sagittarius Moon: the ninth house. Fortune, higher learning and faith, and Jupiter aspects your Moon sign from Leo. A supportive close to the cycle. Capricorn Moon: the eighth house. A more inward, transformative phase after Jupiter's support to your partnerships.
Aquarius Moon: the seventh house. Partnership and marriage come forward, with Jupiter looking straight at your Moon sign. With Sade Sati ending in twenty twenty-seven, many Aquarius Moons find this a turning point. And Pisces Moon: the sixth house. Steady work, routines and service, after Jupiter's support to romance and creativity.
