In short: Jupiter, the great benefic of Jyotish, entered sidereal Cancer (Karka) — the sign of its exaltation — on 1 June 2026 (2 June at UTC+5:30), and moves into Leo (Simha) on 31 October 2026. It turns retrograde on 13 December 2026, slips back into Cancer on 24 January 2027, turns direct on 13 April 2027, and re-enters Leo on 25 June 2027 (26 June at UTC+5:30), staying until 26 November 2027. Phaladeepika counts Jupiter favourable in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th from the Moon; this page reads both phases for every Moon sign.

Why this transit is watched

Jupiter is the karaka of wisdom, children, teachers, wealth and — in a long tradition — the husband in a woman's chart. Exalted in Cancer, it is at its most generous in classical terms. Its transit is the most commonly cited supportive trigger for marriage, children, study and growth, especially when it falls in a favourable house from the Moon or aspects the 7th house or Venus (see marriage timing). Jupiter aspects the 5th, 7th and 9th signs from itself: from Cancer it aspects Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces; from Leo, Sagittarius, Aquarius and Aries.

Sign by sign, from the Moon

Two houses are given for each Moon sign: Jupiter in Cancer (June–October 2026 and January–June 2027), then in Leo (November 2026–January 2027 and June–November 2027). ★ marks a classically favourable house.

Aries Moon — 4th, then 5th ★. Home, property and family peace first; then romance, children, creativity and study come forward. The Leo phase is one of the best of the cycle for love and learning.

Taurus Moon — 3rd, then 4th. Effort, short travel, writing and siblings; then home and inner contentment. Neither is on the classical favourable list, but both suit patient, practical growth.

Gemini Moon — 2nd ★, then 3rd. The Cancer phase supports income, savings, family and speech — a good period for financial planning. Then effort and initiative.

Cancer Moon — 1st, then 2nd ★. Jupiter exalted on your own Moon brings optimism and visibility, though the 1st from the Moon is not on the favourable list (watch overconfidence and weight). The Leo phase favours finances and family.

Leo Moon — 12th, then 1st. Expenses, travel, spiritual life and rest; then Jupiter on your Moon. A reflective year that opens outward. With Saturn in the 8th from your Moon, this is a time to build slowly.

Virgo Moon — 11th ★, then 12th. The Cancer phase is the classic period of gains, fulfilled wishes and helpful friends — for many, the best part of the cycle for money. Then a quieter, more inward stretch.

Libra Moon — 10th, then 11th ★. Career growth and responsibility, then gains and recognition. A strong pair of years for work and income.

Scorpio Moon — 9th ★, then 10th. Fortune, teachers, faith and long journeys; Jupiter in Cancer also aspects your Moon sign by its 5th aspect. Then work and status.

Sagittarius Moon — 8th, then 9th ★. A period of change and research, then fortune and higher learning. Jupiter from Leo aspects your Moon sign — a supportive close to the cycle.

Capricorn Moon — 7th ★, then 8th. Jupiter exalted in the 7th from your Moon, aspecting your Moon sign directly: the classic transit for partnership, marriage and contracts. Then a more inward, transformative phase.

Aquarius Moon — 6th, then 7th ★. Work routines, health habits and service first; then partnership and marriage come forward, with Jupiter aspecting your Moon sign from Leo. With Sade Sati ending in 2027–28, many Aquarius Moons find this a turning point.

Pisces Moon — 5th ★, then 6th. Jupiter exalted in the 5th, aspecting your Moon: romance, children, creativity and study are supported, softening the weight of Sade Sati. Then steady work and service.

For love, career and money

  • Love and marriage. The Cancer phase favours Capricorn (7th) and Pisces (5th) Moons, with Scorpio Moons receiving Jupiter's aspect; the Leo phase favours Aquarius (7th) and Aries (5th) Moons, with Sagittarius Moons receiving the aspect.
  • Career. Libra Moons feel Jupiter in the 10th and then the 11th; Scorpio Moons have it in the 10th during the Leo phase.
  • Money. Virgo Moons in the Cancer phase (11th) and Libra Moons in the Leo phase (11th); Gemini and Cancer Moons through the 2nd house.

Transits work through the dasha. A favourable Jupiter transit during a dasha that does not activate the relevant houses may simply feel like a good year rather than an eventful one.
