Shani turns forward
Saturn, Shani, has been retrograde since the twenty-sixth of July. On the tenth of December twenty twenty-six, the eleventh in India, it turns direct in Pisces. So these last weeks of the retrograde are the time the tradition gives for finishing duties, not fearing them. In this video: the dates, what Saturn's retrograde in Pisces has been about, what to finish before it turns, the Moon signs that feel it most, and a quick reading for all twelve.
The dates
Here are the dates, computed with the Sunyra engine. Saturn turned retrograde on the twenty-sixth of July, at about twenty and a half degrees of sidereal Pisces, in Revati. It was closest to Earth and brightest on the fourth of October. It turns direct on the tenth of December, the eleventh in India, at about fourteen degrees of Pisces, in Uttara Bhadrapada, the nakshatra ruled by Saturn itself. Three days later, on the thirteenth of December, Jupiter turns retrograde in Leo.
And Saturn stays in Pisces until the third of June twenty twenty-seven, when it enters Aries.
What it has been about
In the Vedic reading, Pisces is Jupiter's water sign: compassion, endings, retreat and faith. Moving back from Revati into Uttara Bhadrapada, the retrograde is read as a return to unfinished work, the duties of care and completion. A retrograde Saturn is not weak. The Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra gives it high motional strength. Its results are read as delayed or repeated, rather than weakened.
What Saturn began asking of you when it entered Pisces in March twenty twenty-five is asked again, more thoroughly.
What to finish first
So what should you finish before the tenth of December? At work: consolidate, catch up, fix processes, document, and train others. It is a good time to finish what you were given, and to ask for the resources a job really needs. With money: pay down debt, restructure loans, and review long contracts and savings plans. Saturn rewards the slow and the honest.
In love, Saturn tests the foundations of commitments: who carries what, and what a promise really means. Patient repair and plain talk about responsibilities are favoured. And for wellbeing, the tradition advises steady routines, sleep, simple food and rest.
Sade Sati and dhaiya
Five Moon signs feel Saturn most right now. For an Aquarius Moon, it is the last phase of Sade Sati: money, family and speech come up for one more review before release. For a Pisces Moon, the peak, with Saturn over the Moon: rest, responsibility and patience with yourself. For an Aries Moon, the first phase: expenses, sleep and endings, finishing before beginning. And two Moon signs are in dhaiya.
For a Leo Moon, Saturn is in the eighth: shared money and deep change, with careful, unhurried decisions. For a Sagittarius Moon, Saturn is in the fourth: home, property and mother ask for attention. Remember, Sade Sati is a phase of maturing, not a curse.
All twelve Moon signs
For everyone else, count Pisces from your Moon sign. Classically, Saturn's transit is favourable only in the third, sixth and eleventh houses from the Moon. That is Capricorn, Libra and Taurus Moons. For a Taurus Moon, gains and long-term goals: late but steady results. For a Libra Moon, work, debts and health routines: a strong place for Saturn, so catch up.
For a Capricorn Moon, effort and persistence pay, so finish what was begun. For Gemini, Saturn is in the tenth: consolidate your career. For Cancer, the ninth: duty and faith reconsidered. For Virgo, the seventh: commitments are tested for their foundations. And for Scorpio, the fifth: slow, steady revision in study and creative work.
What to do
The tradition's counsel is simple. Favour finishing and consolidating, paying debts, service and care for elders, and steady routines. And if there is a choice, postpone big new obligations taken on in haste, and cutting corners to save time. Saturn's traditional remedies, service, honesty and charity, are ways of working with Saturn, not guarantees. If you would like the coming twelve months read from your own chart, Sunyra's Year Ahead report on sunyra.ai does that, month by month.
Recap
To recap. Saturn turns direct in Pisces on the tenth of December, the eleventh in India. Until then, finish, repair and pay down. Aquarius, Pisces and Aries Moons are in Sade Sati, and Leo and Sagittarius in dhaiya. Taurus, Libra and Capricorn Moons get the classical support.
And three days later, Jupiter turns retrograde in Leo.
