Does your chart promise wealth?
Does your chart promise wealth? Vedic astrology answers that question with yogas: special combinations of planets. The wealth combinations are called dhana yogas, and the classical texts list many of them. In this video: the houses of wealth, the common thread behind every dhana yoga, the classic forms, Lakshmi yoga and a few other famous combinations, the role of Jupiter, when wealth yogas give their results, and how to check your own chart in five steps. And one honest warning about remedies that promise riches.
The houses of wealth
Vedic astrology reads wealth from four houses and their lords, always together with the ascendant. The second house is accumulated wealth and savings. The eleventh is gains and income. And the fifth and ninth are merit and fortune, sometimes called the Lakshmi houses. The tenth shows the work through which you earn, and the sixth, eighth and twelfth show how wealth is borrowed, shared or spent.
Dhana yogas: the common thread
The classical texts devote whole chapters to wealth combinations, but their common thread is simple. The lords of the first, second, fifth, ninth and eleventh houses joining together, aspecting each other, or exchanging signs, preferably strong in dignity and placed in angles or trines. A few classic forms. The second and eleventh lords together, or in each other's houses. The fifth or ninth lord with the second or eleventh lord.
The lagna lord strong, and linked with the second or eleventh lord. And benefic planets in the second and eleventh houses.
Lakshmi yoga and other famous yogas
Some wealth yogas have famous names. Lakshmi yoga, in the classical text Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, is the ninth lord in an angle, in its own, moolatrikona or exaltation sign, with a strong lagna lord. Gajakesari yoga, Jupiter in an angle from the Moon, is linked with standing and support. Chandra Mangala yoga, the Moon and Mars together, is traditionally linked with earning through enterprise. And Vasumati yoga, benefics in the growth houses from the lagna or the Moon, is linked with wealth that accumulates over time.
There is also a classical counterpart, daridra yoga, for example the eleventh lord in a difficult house. It is read calmly. The texts give cancellations, and it describes the need for effort and care with money, not a fate.
Jupiter, Venus and Mercury
Jupiter is the natural significator of wealth, and of the second and eleventh houses. Its dignity, and its aspect on the wealth houses, matter in every reading. Venus is read for comfort and luxuries, and Mercury for trade. A strong Jupiter looking at your second or eleventh house is one of the quiet signatures of fortune that grows steadily.
When wealth yogas give results
A yoga is a promise. The dasha decides when it opens. The periods of the second and eleventh lords, of planets placed in those houses, and of the planets that form a dhana yoga, are the classic times for financial growth. Jupiter's transits over the second, the eleventh or their lords are read as supportive, and Saturn's transits there as consolidation through effort. If you would like your own money years read month by month, Sunyra's Career and Wealth Report on sunyra.ai does exactly that, from your own chart.
Check your own chart
Here is how to check your own chart in five steps. One: find the lords of your second, fifth, ninth and eleventh houses, and your lagna lord. Two: note whether any of them sit together, aspect each other, or exchange signs. Three: check their dignity, and Jupiter's. Four: look at what occupies your twelfth and eighth houses.
And five: note whether your current dasha lord is one of these planets. And the honest warning. Wealth yogas describe tendencies, not bank balances. A chart cannot tell you what to buy, sell, borrow or invest. And be wary of anyone who sells remedies with a promise of riches.
Recap
To recap. Wealth is read from the second, eleventh, fifth and ninth houses, with the ascendant. Dhana yogas form when their lords join, aspect or exchange signs. Lakshmi, Gajakesari, Chandra Mangala and Vasumati are the famous names. Jupiter is the significator.
And the dasha decides when the promise opens. Your free kundli at sunyra.ai shows your house lords and your dashas. Thank you for watching. May your effort and your fortune meet.
