What it means for you

Taurus Moon right now

As of 3 November 2026: Jupiter is in Leo (your 4th from the Moon), Saturn in Pisces (your 11th) and Rahu in Aquarius (your 10th). For today, use the daily calendar.

  • Love & marriageMixedLove follows your own chart’s periods more than the sky this season; small kindnesses count.
  • CareerFavouredJupiter: home and family need attention; comfort comes from tending your base. Saturn: one of Saturn’s most rewarding transits: patient gains.
  • MoneyFavouredSaturn in your 11th brings slow, patient gains. Rahu in your 10th can tempt you toward quick wins — check twice.
  • Health habitsMixedKeep the basics — sleep, food, movement.

When it shows most: the slow planets set the season for a year or more; the Moon’s daily passage times the days within it.

Why we say this
  • Transits are counted as houses from your natal Moon sign (Phaladeepika ch. 26).
  • Jupiter is favourable in the 2nd, 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th; Saturn and Rahu in the 3rd, 6th and 11th.
  • Saturn in the 12th, 1st and 2nd from the Moon is Sade Sati; in the 4th and 8th, dhaiya.

This reads the sky for everyone with this Moon sign; your own dashas and ascendant decide how strongly it lands. Make your free kundli to see your own.

In short: Vrishabha rashi, the Moon in Taurus, is the Moon exalted: a calm, steady, contented and loyal mind that loves comfort, beauty and routine. It is traditionally one of the most settled Moon signs.

The Taurus mind

A Vrishabha Moon feels safest with stability: a reliable home, good food, familiar people. The Moon is exalted here (deepest at 3°) and the rashi includes Rohini, the Moon's favourite nakshatra. Classical descriptions speak of beauty, generosity, patience and a love of pleasure. Venus as sign lord gives taste and affection; the person tends to be slow to anger and slow to forgive.

Strengths and challenges

Strengths: emotional stability, loyalty, patience and artistic sensibility.

Challenges: stubbornness, attachment and resistance to change.

Relationships, work and wellbeing

Relationships: steady, sensual and devoted.

Work: finance, food, design, agriculture and the arts suit this mind.

Wellbeing: moderation in comfort and time outdoors. Not medical advice.

By nakshatra

The Moon's nakshatra refines the rashi and sets the Vimshottari dasha a person is born into:

Nakshatra Span Lord Deity Birth dasha
Krittika 0°–10° Sun Agni, god of fire Sun (6 years)
Rohini 10°–23°20′ Moon Prajapati (Brahma), the creator Moon (10 years)
Mrigashira 23°20′–30° Mars Soma, the Moon Mars (7 years)

Sade Sati and dhaiya for Taurus Moon

Sade Sati, the roughly seven-and-a-half-year passage of Saturn over the Moon, runs for a Taurus Moon while Saturn transits the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs from it — Saturn in Aries (12th from the Moon), Taurus (1st) and Gemini (2nd). The two-and-a-half-year dhaiya periods come with Saturn in Leo (4th) and Sagittarius (8th). Classical texts read these as periods of pressure and maturing; their actual effects depend on Saturn's strength in the natal chart, the running dasha and the ashtakavarga scores of the signs. Sunyra calculates the exact dates in the kundli.

Favourable transits for Taurus Moon

Vedic transit reading (gochara) counts from the natal Moon. Following the favourable houses in Phaladeepika (ch. 26), for a Taurus Moon these transits are traditionally supportive, before obstruction (vedha) and ashtakavarga are applied:

Planet Traditionally favourable when transiting
Jupiter Gemini, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces
Saturn Cancer, Libra and Pisces
Rahu and Ketu Cancer, Libra and Pisces
Mars Cancer, Libra and Pisces
Sun Cancer, Libra, Aquarius and Pisces

Daily horoscopes by Moon sign on Sunyra are written from the actual transits counted this way — see the horoscope.

Matching notes

In Ashtakoota matching, the Moon sign contributes three of the eight kootas: varna (Vaishya for Taurus), vashya (Chatushpada (quadruped)) and bhakoot, which compares the two Moon signs. Bhakoot is traditionally counted as a dosha when the partner's Moon is 2nd/12th, 6th/8th or 5th/9th from each other:

Relationship to a Taurus Moon Partner's Moon signs
2/12 (dosha) Aries and Gemini
6/8 (dosha) Libra and Sagittarius
5/9 (dosha) Virgo and Capricorn
No bhakoot dosha Taurus, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius and Pisces

Classical practice lists cancellations of bhakoot dosha — for example when the two Moon signs share the same lord or their lords are friends — and the whole of both charts matters far more than any one koota. See matching.

The graha maitri koota (up to 5 points) compares the lords of the two Moon signs by their natural friendship in BPHS. For a Taurus Moon, whose lord is Venus:

Partner's Moon sign Its lord Graha maitri points
Aries Mars 3
Taurus Venus 5
Gemini Mercury 5
Cancer Moon 0.5
Leo Sun 0
Virgo Mercury 5
Libra Venus 5
Scorpio Mars 3
Sagittarius Jupiter 0.5
Capricorn Saturn 5
Aquarius Saturn 5
Pisces Jupiter 0.5

The Western view

In Western astrology the Moon sign is usually tropical, about one sign ahead of the sidereal rashi for most people, so a Vedic Taurus Moon is often a Western Gemini Moon. Western astrologers read the Moon sign as emotional needs and instinctive reactions, much as Vedic astrologers read the rashi as the mind.
