In short: Ketu in Aries brings the south node's detachment and instinct into Aries's territory: instinctive courage and detachment from self-assertion. Rahu sits opposite in Libra, so the axis runs between the familiar, inherited ease of Aries and the unfamiliar pull of Libra. The rising sign decides which house Aries becomes, and so where these qualities are lived.

Dignity
Ketu's dignity in Aries is not defined in the main classical schemes. With node dignities disputed, Mars (the dispositor) and the nakshatra lord carry most of the weight in reading Ketu here. In Aries the dispositor is Mars, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Ketu has no sign of its own, so in Aries it acts largely through Mars, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Ketu as a separator and a significator of liberation: where it sits, a person often has instinctive skill and little attachment. Modern Vedic astrologers read Ketu in Aries as Aries's themes known so well — as if from before — that they are held lightly; the challenge is that what comes easily can also be neglected.
With Rahu in Libra, the person is drawn toward Libra's themes with hunger, while Aries offers the gifts to draw on. Lal Kitab, which reads Ketu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
Aries contains Ashwini, Ketu's own nakshatra, where Ketu's quick, healing instinct is strongest. Mars, the dispositor, gives Ketu its Mars-like sharpness — the maxim 'Ketu acts like Mars' is often quoted.
Character and temperament
The planet brings detachment, past skill, spirituality, research and letting go; the sign makes it direct, quick and self-starting. Aries's movable quality means the placement starts things, moves fast and likes initiative.
Strengths: instinctive skill, intuition and freedom from attachment in Aries's areas of life. Its deeper gift is deep intuition and mastery that looks effortless.
Challenges: neglect, a sense of absence and sudden endings around the same themes. The shadow to watch is withdrawal and dismissing what one already has.
Love and marriage
Mars, the lord of Aries, sets the agenda: it brings passion and protectiveness, and needs a partner who can take directness. Ketu detaches from that agenda. Opposite, Rahu sits in Libra, so relationships swing between Aries's direct, quick and self-starting manner and Libra's fair, social and harmony-seeking one. Ketu in any sign can feel distant or self-sufficient in love and needs a partner who respects their solitude; in Aries that becomes impatient, passionate love. Its fire element needs warmth, enthusiasm and some adventure. Libra rising puts Aries, and Ketu, in the 7th house of marriage. More broadly, Ketu brings detachment and a spiritual flavour to love: the person may need space, or find a bond that feels familiar from before.
Career and money
Career follows Mars, which suits engineering, defence, surgery, sport, property, police and any work with fire or tools; under Ketu the work is often quiet, expert and done without fanfare. Professionally, Ketu suits research, healing, technical precision, occult studies, coding and spiritual work. Work-wise the movable sign starts things, moves fast and likes initiative. For Cancer rising it sits in the 10th, the house of career, where Ketu's detachment meets public life. Where money is concerned, money matters can feel detached or erratic, so simple systems work best. The 2nd and 11th houses, the wealth pair, are Aries for Pisces rising and Gemini rising respectively.
Health and wellbeing
Traditionally Ketu governs mysterious or recurring complaints, injuries and the nervous system and Aries governs the head and face. A helpful habit: meditation or prayer and finishing what one starts. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Mars rules Aries, so Mars is Ketu's dispositor. Wherever Mars sits by house and sign is where Ketu's energy in Aries is finally spent; a strong Mars supports it, a weak one asks more of it.
By nakshatra
The degree decides the nakshatra, and each brings its own lord into Ketu's story:
0°–13°20′: Ketu in Ashwini, Ketu's own nakshatra, so the placement is concentrated; deity the Ashvins, twin physicians of the gods; for money it earns quickly and starts many ventures.
13°20′–26°40′: Ketu in Bharani, ruled by Venus; deity Yama, lord of death and dharma; in love it loves deeply and possessively, carrying the relationship like a duty.
26°40′–30°: Ketu in Krittika, ruled by the Sun; deity Agni, god of fire; for work it points to cooking, metal, defence, critique, editing and leadership that cuts through.

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
If Ketu is between 0° and 3°20′ Aries, it is vargottama (same sign in the navamsa), a classical sign of steadiness. Because the sidereal zodiac is now about 24° behind the tropical one, Ketu in sidereal Aries is often in tropical Taurus in a Western chart; both are valid within their own system.
Ketu transiting Aries
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). From the Moon, the transit is classed as good for those with the Moon in Aquarius, Scorpio and Gemini (Phaladeepika ch. 26), subject to vedha and ashtakavarga. While the nodes cross Aries and Libra, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the South Node in Aries is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as familiar ground — past mastery of self-assertion — with growth found by moving toward the North Node in Libra. Medieval astrology gave the South Node exaltation in Sagittarius; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
