In short: Ketu in Virgo brings the south node's detachment and instinct into Virgo's territory: precise, intuitive skill and detachment from perfectionism. Rahu sits opposite in Pisces, so the axis runs between the familiar, inherited ease of Virgo and the unfamiliar pull of Pisces. The rising sign decides which house Virgo becomes, and so where these qualities are lived.

Dignity
Ketu's dignity in Virgo is not defined in the main classical schemes. The nodes' exaltation and debilitation signs differ between texts, so most Parashari astrologers read Ketu first through its dispositor, Mercury, then through its nakshatra lord and the planets it joins. In Virgo the dispositor is Mercury, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Ketu has no sign of its own, so in Virgo it acts largely through Mercury, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Ketu as a separator and a significator of liberation: where it sits, a person often has instinctive skill and little attachment. Modern Vedic astrologers read Ketu in Virgo as Virgo's themes known so well — as if from before — that they are held lightly; the challenge is that what comes easily can also be neglected.
With Rahu in Pisces, the person is drawn toward Pisces's themes with hunger, while Virgo offers the gifts to draw on. Lal Kitab, which reads Ketu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
In Mercury's earthy sign, Ketu gives precise, technical, sometimes mathematical skill; Mercury's condition as dispositor is key.
Character and temperament
Put Ketu — detachment, past skill, spirituality, research and letting go — into a sign that is careful, analytical and service-minded, and the result leans earth. As a dual sign, Virgo adapts, juggles more than one role and learns on the move, and Ketu takes on that rhythm.
Strengths: instinctive skill, intuition and freedom from attachment in Virgo's areas of life. At its best this is deep intuition and mastery that looks effortless.
Challenges: neglect, a sense of absence and sudden endings around the same themes. Its familiar trap is withdrawal and dismissing what one already has.
Love and marriage
Mercury, the lord of Virgo, sets the agenda: it needs conversation, wit and a partner who is also a friend. Ketu detaches from that agenda. Rahu is always in Pisces at the same time, which sets up a pull between devoted love shown through practical care and devoted, selfless love. Generally Ketu can feel distant or self-sufficient in love and needs a partner who respects their solitude. Here the style is devoted love shown through practical care. Its earth element shows love through reliability, touch and practical care. For Pisces rising, Virgo is the 7th, so Ketu sits in the marriage house itself. More broadly, Ketu brings detachment and a spiritual flavour to love: the person may need space, or find a bond that feels familiar from before.
Career and money
Mercury suits commerce, accounts, writing, teaching, software, media and negotiation; Ketu in its sign adds precision, intuition and a dislike of self-promotion. Ketu suits research, healing, technical precision, occult studies, coding and spiritual work. Work-wise the dual sign adapts, juggles more than one role and learns on the move. For Sagittarius rising it sits in the 10th, the house of career, where Ketu's detachment meets public life. On money, money matters can feel detached or erratic, so simple systems work best. The 2nd and 11th houses, the wealth pair, are Virgo for Leo rising and Scorpio rising respectively.
Health and wellbeing
Ketu is linked with mysterious or recurring complaints, injuries and the nervous system, and Virgo with the intestines and digestion, so these are the areas tradition watches. A helpful habit: meditation or prayer and finishing what one starts. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Mercury rules Virgo, so Mercury is Ketu's dispositor. Think of Mercury as the manager Ketu reports to here: Mercury's placement decides where Ketu's work in Virgo ends up.
By nakshatra
The degree decides the nakshatra, and each brings its own lord into Ketu's story:
0°–10°: Ketu in Uttara Phalguni, ruled by the Sun; deity Aryaman, god of contracts, friendship and marriage; for money it earns through partnerships and agreements.
10°–23°20′: Ketu in Hasta, ruled by the Moon; deity Savitr, the inspiring the Sun; in love it shows love through skilful practical help.
23°20′–30°: Ketu in Chitra, ruled by Mars; deity Tvashtr, the divine craftsman (later identified with Vishvakarma); for work it points to architecture, design, jewellery, surgery, engineering and fashion.

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
Between 26°40′ and 30° Virgo, Ketu is vargottama — in Virgo in both the birth chart and the navamsa (D9) — which classical texts treat as a mark of consistency and strength. A Western (tropical) chart will often show this Ketu in Libra, since the two zodiacs are about 24° apart.
Ketu transiting Virgo
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). From the Moon, the transit is classed as good for those with the Moon in Cancer, Aries and Scorpio (Phaladeepika ch. 26), subject to vedha and ashtakavarga. While the nodes cross Virgo and Pisces, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the South Node in Virgo is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as familiar ground — past mastery of routine and perfection — with growth found by moving toward the North Node in Pisces. Medieval astrology gave the South Node exaltation in Sagittarius; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
