In short: Venus in Aries places the planet of love in Mars's fiery sign. It tends to give passionate, impulsive, direct affection, love at first sight, and a bold sense of style. How it plays out in a given life depends on the house Aries occupies for the rising sign, which is set out below.

Dignity
Venus is in a neutral sign, ruled by Mars. By BPHS natural relationships Venus counts Mars as neutral, while Mars counts Venus as neutral — a one-sided relationship. A mixed relationship gives mixed ease; how strong Mars is by sign and house decides much. Venus stays within about 47° of the Sun, so the Sun is in Aries or within two signs of it; when very close, Venus is combust.
The Vedic view
Aries is ruled by Mars, neutral to Venus in BPHS. Classical descriptions of Venus in Aries mix passion and charm with restlessness and impulsive spending. Venus spans Ashwini, Bharani (its own nakshatra) and Krittika's first pada; in Bharani its desires are intense and creative. Venus never strays more than about 47° from the Sun, so it is always within two signs of the Sun's sign, and its closeness to the Sun (combustion) is read alongside its sign.
Character and temperament
The planet brings love, marriage, beauty, comfort, art, vehicles and luxury; the sign makes it direct, quick and self-starting. Being movable, the sign starts things, moves fast and likes initiative.
Strengths: passion, warmth, spontaneity and bold creativity. Its deeper gift is grace, charm and the ability to make life beautiful.
Challenges: impatience in love, impulsive spending and short-lived attractions. Its familiar trap is indulgence and choosing comfort over growth.
Love and marriage
In relationships it is exciting and direct; patience deepens love. The planet is the natural significator of love and marriage itself, seeking harmony, affection and pleasure, and Aries turns it into impatient, passionate love. Being a fire sign, Aries needs warmth, enthusiasm and some adventure. Venus is the karaka (natural significator) of love and marriage, so its sign is one of the first things read for relationships in any chart. Aries becomes the 7th house, marriage itself, for Libra rising: there Venus also rules the 1st and 8th and is benefic (lagna lord). For Sagittarius rising it falls in the 5th, the house of romance. Its general tone in love: Venus is the natural significator of love itself: affection, beauty, pleasure and harmony, with indulgence as the only real danger.
Career and money
At work it favours fashion, performance, sport-related design and sales. In general Venus suits arts, design, fashion, beauty, hospitality, entertainment and luxury trades. The movable sign gives a working style that starts things, moves fast and likes initiative. For Cancer rising, Aries is the 10th house of career, so this placement becomes a main career signature. Weighing lordship, dignity and house together, the placement works best for Capricorn rising and Libra rising, and asks most effort of Pisces rising and Sagittarius rising. Financially, earning and spending both run through comfort, art and relationships. Wealth themes are strongest for Pisces rising (the 2nd house) and Gemini rising (the 11th).
Health and wellbeing
For wellbeing, tradition favours balance between excitement and rest. Venus is linked with the kidneys, reproductive health, hormones and sugar, and Aries with the head and face, so these are the areas tradition watches. A helpful habit: keeping one corner of the home beautiful and expressing appreciation daily. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Mars rules Aries, so Mars is Venus's dispositor. In Parashari practice the results pass through Mars: its house shows where they land, its dignity how fully. If Mars is at the same time in a sign Venus rules (Taurus and Libra), the two are in parivartana, an exchange of signs, a strong mutual link.
By nakshatra
Within Aries, Venus falls in one of these nakshatras, whose lord becomes a second dispositor and shares in its periods:
0°–13°20′: Venus in Ashwini, ruled by Ketu; deity the Ashvins, twin physicians of the gods; in love it falls fast and recovers fast, and needs a partner who keeps pace.
13°20′–26°40′: Venus in Bharani, Venus's own nakshatra, so the placement is concentrated; deity Yama, lord of death and dharma; for work it points to work with birth, death, transformation, finance, film and pleasure trades.
26°40′–30°: Venus in Krittika, ruled by the Sun, an enemy to Venus; deity Agni, god of fire; its gift is clear discrimination and its shadow harsh words.

Lordship changes with the rising sign, so the table below shows where Venus in Aries sits and what it governs in each case.

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
Between 0° and 3°20′ Aries, Venus is vargottama — in Aries in both the birth chart and the navamsa (D9) — which classical texts treat as a mark of consistency and strength. Because the sidereal zodiac is now about 24° behind the tropical one, Venus in sidereal Aries is often in tropical Taurus in a Western chart; both are valid within their own system.

The Western view
In Western astrology Venus is in detriment in Aries, opposite its domicile Libra. Modern astrologers describe it as passionate, impulsive and independent in love.
