In short: Ketu in Capricorn brings the south node's detachment and instinct into Capricorn's territory: detachment from status and a vocation more than a career. Rahu sits opposite in Cancer, so the axis runs between the familiar, inherited ease of Capricorn and the unfamiliar pull of Cancer. Which life area it colours depends on the ascendant: the table further down shows each one.

Dignity
Ketu's dignity in Capricorn is not defined in the main classical schemes. Because the texts disagree on node dignities, the practical rule is to judge Ketu by Saturn, the lord of Capricorn, and by whatever planet shares the sign. In Capricorn the dispositor is Saturn, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Ketu has no sign of its own, so in Capricorn it acts largely through Saturn, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Ketu as a separator and a significator of liberation: where it sits, a person often has instinctive skill and little attachment. Modern Vedic astrologers read Ketu in Capricorn as Capricorn's themes known so well — as if from before — that they are held lightly; the challenge is that what comes easily can also be neglected.
With Rahu in Cancer, the person is drawn toward Cancer's themes with hunger, while Capricorn offers the gifts to draw on. Lal Kitab, which reads Ketu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
In Saturn's sign, Ketu gives austere, disciplined detachment from worldly status; Saturn's condition as dispositor is central.
Character and temperament
Put Ketu — detachment, past skill, spirituality, research and letting go — into a sign that is practical, ambitious and enduring, and the result leans earth. Capricorn's movable quality means the placement starts things, moves fast and likes initiative.
Strengths: instinctive skill, intuition and freedom from attachment in Capricorn's areas of life. At its best this is deep intuition and mastery that looks effortless.
Challenges: neglect, a sense of absence and sudden endings around the same themes. Left unchecked, it slides toward withdrawal and dismissing what one already has.
Love and marriage
In love Ketu takes its cue from Saturn, which brings commitment and loyalty, often with delay or an age gap, and love that deepens slowly; Ketu makes it quieter and less possessive, sometimes detached. With Rahu across the axis in Cancer, the lesson is to balance committed, responsible love with nurturing, family-centred love. Generally Ketu can feel distant or self-sufficient in love and needs a partner who respects their solitude. Here the style is committed, responsible love. Being an earth sign, Capricorn shows love through reliability, touch and practical care. For Cancer rising, Capricorn is the 7th, so Ketu sits in the marriage house itself. As a rule, Ketu brings detachment and a spiritual flavour to love: the person may need space, or find a bond that feels familiar from before.
Career and money
For work, Saturn the dispositor suits administration, law, mining, oil, labour, engineering, research and long-term service, and Ketu pushes it toward specialist, research or behind-the-scenes versions. Professionally, Ketu suits research, healing, technical precision, occult studies, coding and spiritual work. Capricorn, being movable, starts things, moves fast and likes initiative, which shapes the working style. It is a direct career factor for Aries rising, with Capricorn on the 10th. Financially, a simple, detached relationship with money works better than chasing it. Wealth themes are strongest for Sagittarius rising (the 2nd house) and Pisces rising (the 11th).
Health and wellbeing
Traditionally Ketu governs mysterious or recurring complaints, injuries and the nervous system and Capricorn governs the knees, joints and bones. A helpful habit: meditation or prayer and finishing what one starts. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Saturn rules Capricorn, so Saturn is Ketu's dispositor. Think of Saturn as the manager Ketu reports to here: Saturn's placement decides where Ketu's work in Capricorn ends up.
By nakshatra
The degree decides the nakshatra, and each brings its own lord into Ketu's story:
0°–10°: Ketu in Uttara Ashadha, ruled by the Sun; deity the Vishvedevas, the universal gods; for money it earns lasting success through principle.
10°–23°20′: Ketu in Shravana, ruled by the Moon; deity Vishnu, the preserver; in love it listens and learns a partner deeply.
23°20′–30°: Ketu in Dhanishta, ruled by Mars; deity the eight Vasus, gods of the elements; for work it points to music, real estate, finance, sport and group work.
By rising sign
The same Ketu in Capricorn lands in a different house, and answers to a dispositor with different lordships, for each ascendant. Each row links to the full reading:

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
Between 0° and 3°20′ Capricorn, Ketu is vargottama — in Capricorn in both the birth chart and the navamsa (D9) — which classical texts treat as a mark of consistency and strength. Readers who know their Western chart may find Ketu in Aquarius there: the sidereal–tropical gap is roughly 24°.
Ketu transiting Capricorn
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). From the Moon, the transit is classed as good for those with the Moon in Scorpio, Leo and Pisces (Phaladeepika ch. 26), subject to vedha and ashtakavarga. While the nodes cross Capricorn and Cancer, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the South Node in Capricorn is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as familiar ground — past mastery of status and public achievement — with growth found by moving toward the North Node in Cancer. Medieval astrology gave the South Node exaltation in Sagittarius; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
