In short: Ketu in Scorpio brings the south node's detachment and instinct into Scorpio's territory: deep intuition, occult interest and calm in crisis. Rahu sits opposite in Taurus, so the axis runs between the familiar, inherited ease of Scorpio and the unfamiliar pull of Taurus. Which life area it colours depends on the ascendant: the table further down shows each one.

Dignity
Ketu's dignity in Scorpio is exalted (or co-ruler) in one school. The nodes' exaltation and debilitation signs differ between texts, so most Parashari astrologers read Ketu first through its dispositor, Mars, then through its nakshatra lord and the planets it joins. In Scorpio the dispositor is Mars, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Ketu has no sign of its own, so in Scorpio it acts largely through Mars, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Ketu as a separator and a significator of liberation: where it sits, a person often has instinctive skill and little attachment. Modern Vedic astrologers read Ketu in Scorpio as Scorpio's themes known so well — as if from before — that they are held lightly; the challenge is that what comes easily can also be neglected.
With Rahu in Taurus, the person is drawn toward Taurus's themes with hunger, while Scorpio offers the gifts to draw on. Lal Kitab, which reads Ketu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
One school gives Ketu exaltation or co-rulership in Scorpio, reading it as strong in this sign of the hidden; intuition and occult gifts are classic themes. Mars's condition as dispositor is key.
Character and temperament
Ketu signifies detachment, past skill, spirituality, research and letting go; Scorpio is intense, private and transforming. As a fixed sign, Scorpio sticks with a project and builds slowly to last, and Ketu takes on that rhythm.
Strengths: instinctive skill, intuition and freedom from attachment in Scorpio's areas of life. At its best this is deep intuition and mastery that looks effortless.
Challenges: neglect, a sense of absence and sudden endings around the same themes. Left unchecked, it slides toward withdrawal and dismissing what one already has.
Love and marriage
In love Ketu takes its cue from Mars, which brings passion and protectiveness, and needs a partner who can take directness; Ketu makes it quieter and less possessive, sometimes detached. Rahu is always in Taurus at the same time, which sets up a pull between deep, all-or-nothing love and loyal, comfort-seeking love. The planet can feel distant or self-sufficient in love and needs a partner who respects their solitude, and Scorpio turns it into deep, all-or-nothing love. Scorpio is a water sign, and in love it needs emotional depth, reassurance and loyalty. In a chart with Taurus rising, this is Ketu in the 7th. Its general tone in love: Ketu loves quietly and without possessiveness, sometimes holding back until trust is complete.
Career and money
Mars suits engineering, defence, surgery, sport, property, police and any work with fire or tools; Ketu in its sign adds precision, intuition and a dislike of self-promotion. Ketu suits research, healing, technical precision, occult studies, coding and spiritual work. Scorpio, being fixed, sticks with a project and builds slowly to last, which shapes the working style. Aquarius rising places it in the 10th house of profession. On money, a simple, detached relationship with money works better than chasing it. Wealth themes are strongest for Libra rising (the 2nd house) and Capricorn rising (the 11th).
Health and wellbeing
The planet's areas are mysterious or recurring complaints, injuries and the nervous system; the sign's are the reproductive and eliminative organs. A helpful habit: meditation or prayer and finishing what one starts. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Mars rules Scorpio, so Mars is Ketu's dispositor. In Parashari practice the results pass through Mars: its house shows where they land, its dignity how fully.
By nakshatra
Scorpio holds parts of 3 nakshatras; the one Ketu occupies adds a further layer:
0°–3°20′: Ketu in Vishakha, ruled by Jupiter; deity Indra and Agni together (Indragni); its gift is determination and its shadow jealousy and ends-justify-means thinking.
3°20′–16°40′: Ketu in Anuradha, ruled by Saturn; deity Mitra, god of friendship and agreements; for money it earns through networks and cooperation.
16°40′–30°: Ketu in Jyeshtha, ruled by Mercury; deity Indra, king of the gods; in love it is protective and private, with a strong need to be respected.

Lordship changes with the rising sign, so the table below shows where Ketu in Scorpio sits and what it governs in each case.

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
The vargottama zone of Scorpio is 13°20′–16°40′: there Ketu occupies the same sign in the D1 and the D9, and its results are more reliable. A Western (tropical) chart will often show this Ketu in Sagittarius, since the two zodiacs are about 24° apart.
Ketu transiting Scorpio
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). Transits are judged from the natal Moon: following Phaladeepika ch. 26, this transit is traditionally favourable for Moon signs Virgo, Gemini and Capricorn, before vedha and ashtakavarga refine it. While the nodes cross Scorpio and Taurus, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the South Node in Scorpio is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as familiar ground — past mastery of intensity and shared resources — with growth found by moving toward the North Node in Taurus. Medieval astrology gave the South Node exaltation in Sagittarius; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
