In short: Rahu in Aries brings the north node's hunger for the new into Aries's territory: boldness, ambition and the hunger to lead. Ketu sits opposite in Libra, so the axis runs between the unfamiliar pull of Aries and the familiar ease of Libra. Which life area it colours depends on the ascendant: the table further down shows each one.

Dignity
Rahu's dignity in Aries is not defined in the main classical schemes. Because the texts disagree on node dignities, the practical rule is to judge Rahu by Mars, the lord of Aries, and by whatever planet shares the sign. In Aries the dispositor is Mars, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Rahu has no sign of its own, so in Aries it acts largely through Mars, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Rahu as a magnifier: it amplifies the matters of its sign and house, often producing ambition, fascination and sudden change. Modern Vedic astrologers read Rahu in Aries as a strong desire to experience Aries's themes — boldness, ambition and the hunger to lead — which can bring rapid gains in those areas and also restlessness or confusion until the desire is understood.
With Ketu in Libra, the person may feel naturally detached from Libra's themes or have mastered them already; growth tends to come from engaging with Aries consciously while drawing on the skills of Libra. Lal Kitab, which reads Rahu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
In Mars's sign, Rahu's drive is amplified by Mars's heat: courage and initiative can be remarkable, and haste is the main caution. The nakshatras here — Ashwini, Bharani and Krittika — are ruled by Ketu, Venus and the Sun.
Character and temperament
Rahu signifies desire, ambition, the foreign, the new and the unconventional; Aries is direct, quick and self-starting. Aries's movable quality means the placement starts things, moves fast and likes initiative.
Strengths: drive, originality and the courage to pursue Aries's themes in unconventional ways. Its deeper gift is the boldness to break a pattern no one else questions.
Challenges: obsession, dissatisfaction and illusion around the same themes. Its familiar trap is never feeling it is enough.
Love and marriage
Because Mars disposits it, the love life follows Mars's pattern — it brings passion and protectiveness, and needs a partner who can take directness — with Rahu turning up the intensity. Opposite, Ketu sits in Libra, so relationships swing between Aries's direct, quick and self-starting manner and Libra's fair, social and harmony-seeking one. The planet draws unconventional or cross-cultural attractions and intense, obsessive feelings, and Aries turns it into impatient, passionate love. Aries is a fire sign, and in love it needs warmth, enthusiasm and some adventure. Libra rising puts Aries, and Rahu, in the 7th house of marriage. Its general tone in love: Rahu brings intense, unconventional or cross-cultural attraction, and a hunger that can either renew a relationship or unsettle it.
Career and money
Mars suits engineering, defence, surgery, sport, property, police and any work with fire or tools; Rahu in its sign adds ambition and an appetite for the unusual. In general Rahu suits technology, foreign work, media, politics, aviation and anything new or disruptive. Aries, being movable, starts things, moves fast and likes initiative, which shapes the working style. It is a direct career factor for Cancer rising, with Aries on the 10th. Financially, income can come suddenly from unusual or foreign sources and needs guarding. Wealth themes are strongest for Pisces rising (the 2nd house) and Gemini rising (the 11th).
Health and wellbeing
Traditionally Rahu governs unusual or hard-to-diagnose complaints, anxiety and addictions and Aries governs the head and face. A helpful habit: a clear limit on screens, speculation and stimulants. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Mars rules Aries, so Mars is Rahu's dispositor. Think of Mars as the manager Rahu reports to here: Mars's placement decides where Rahu's work in Aries ends up.
By nakshatra
Aries holds parts of 3 nakshatras; the one Rahu occupies adds a further layer:
0°–13°20′: Rahu in Ashwini, ruled by Ketu; deity the Ashvins, twin physicians of the gods; in love it falls fast and recovers fast, and needs a partner who keeps pace.
13°20′–26°40′: Rahu in Bharani, ruled by Venus; deity Yama, lord of death and dharma; for work it points to work with birth, death, transformation, finance, film and pleasure trades.
26°40′–30°: Rahu in Krittika, ruled by the Sun; deity Agni, god of fire; its gift is clear discrimination and its shadow harsh words.
By rising sign
Lordship changes with the rising sign, so the table below shows where Rahu in Aries sits and what it governs in each case.

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
The vargottama zone of Aries is 0°–3°20′: there Rahu occupies the same sign in the D1 and the D9, and its results are more reliable. Readers who know their Western chart may find Rahu in Taurus there: the sidereal–tropical gap is roughly 24°.
Rahu transiting Aries
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). Counted from the natal Moon (Phaladeepika ch. 26), the classically favourable Moon signs for this transit are Aquarius, Scorpio and Gemini; vedha and ashtakavarga then refine the picture. While the nodes cross Aries and Libra, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the North Node in Aries is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as a direction of growth toward independence and self-assertion, with the South Node in Libra showing what is familiar. Medieval astrology gave the North Node exaltation in Gemini; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
