In short: Rahu in Aquarius brings the north node's hunger for the new into Aquarius's territory: a hunger for innovation, networks and reform. Ketu sits opposite in Leo, so the axis runs between the unfamiliar pull of Aquarius and the familiar ease of Leo. How it plays out in a given life depends on the house Aquarius occupies for the rising sign, which is set out below.

Dignity
Rahu's dignity in Aquarius is own sign in one school (with Saturn). Because the texts disagree on node dignities, the practical rule is to judge Rahu by Saturn, the lord of Aquarius, and by whatever planet shares the sign. In Aquarius the dispositor is Saturn, whose own condition therefore sets the tone.
The Vedic view
Rahu has no sign of its own, so in Aquarius it acts largely through Saturn, the sign's lord, and through the nakshatra it occupies. Classical texts treat Rahu as a magnifier: it amplifies the matters of its sign and house, often producing ambition, fascination and sudden change. Modern Vedic astrologers read Rahu in Aquarius as a strong desire to experience Aquarius's themes — a hunger for innovation, networks and reform — which can bring rapid gains in those areas and also restlessness or confusion until the desire is understood.
With Ketu in Leo, the person may feel naturally detached from Leo's themes or have mastered them already; growth tends to come from engaging with Aquarius consciously while drawing on the skills of Leo. Lal Kitab, which reads Rahu by house rather than sign, gives its own remedies for each placement.
One school gives Rahu co-rulership of Aquarius with Saturn, and Aquarius contains Shatabhisha, Rahu's own nakshatra; innovation, research and unconventional networks are strong themes.
Character and temperament
Put Rahu — desire, ambition, the foreign, the new and the unconventional — into a sign that is independent, humane and unconventional, and the result leans air. Being fixed, the sign sticks with a project and builds slowly to last.
Strengths: drive, originality and the courage to pursue Aquarius's themes in unconventional ways. The gift underneath is the boldness to break a pattern no one else questions.
Challenges: obsession, dissatisfaction and illusion around the same themes. The shadow to watch is never feeling it is enough.
Love and marriage
Saturn, the lord of Aquarius, sets the agenda: it brings commitment and loyalty, often with delay or an age gap, and love that deepens slowly. Rahu magnifies that agenda. Opposite, Ketu sits in Leo, so relationships swing between Aquarius's independent, humane and unconventional manner and Leo's proud, warm and generous one. The planet draws unconventional or cross-cultural attractions and intense, obsessive feelings, and Aquarius turns it into friendship-based love that needs freedom. Being an air sign, Aquarius needs conversation, friendship and room to breathe. In a chart with Leo rising, this is Rahu in the 7th. More broadly, Rahu brings intense, unconventional or cross-cultural attraction, and a hunger that can either renew a relationship or unsettle it.
Career and money
Career follows Saturn, which suits administration, law, mining, oil, labour, engineering, research and long-term service; under Rahu the work is often unconventional, international or technology-driven. Rahu suits technology, foreign work, media, politics, aviation and anything new or disruptive. Aquarius, being fixed, sticks with a project and builds slowly to last, which shapes the working style. Taurus rising places it in the 10th house of profession. On money, windfalls and sudden losses are both possible, so caution with risk is wise. It falls in the money houses for Capricorn rising (2nd) and Aries rising (11th).
Health and wellbeing
Traditionally Rahu governs unusual or hard-to-diagnose complaints, anxiety and addictions and Aquarius governs the calves, ankles and circulation. A helpful habit: a clear limit on screens, speculation and stimulants. This is traditional astrology, not medical advice.
The dispositor
Saturn rules Aquarius, so Saturn is Rahu's dispositor. In Parashari practice the results pass through Saturn: its house shows where they land, its dignity how fully.
By nakshatra
The degree decides the nakshatra, and each brings its own lord into Rahu's story:
0°–6°40′: Rahu in Dhanishta, ruled by Mars; deity the eight Vasus, gods of the elements; for money it attracts wealth and status.
6°40′–20°: Rahu in Shatabhisha, Rahu's own nakshatra, so the placement is concentrated; deity Varuna, lord of the waters and of cosmic order; in love it needs space and can be secretive or solitary in love.
20°–30°: Rahu in Purva Bhadrapada, ruled by Jupiter; deity Aja Ekapada, the one-footed goat; for work it points to occult, philosophy, crisis work, research and causes.
By rising sign
The same Rahu in Aquarius lands in a different house, and answers to a dispositor with different lordships, for each ascendant. Each row links to the full reading:

Navamsa and the two zodiacs
The vargottama zone of Aquarius is 13°20′–16°40′: there Rahu occupies the same sign in the D1 and the D9, and its results are more reliable. Because the sidereal zodiac is now about 24° behind the tropical one, Rahu in sidereal Aquarius is often in tropical Pisces in a Western chart; both are valid within their own system.
Rahu transiting Aquarius
Time in the sign: about eighteen months in each sign (moving backwards). Transits are judged from the natal Moon: following Phaladeepika ch. 26, this transit is traditionally favourable for Moon signs Sagittarius, Virgo and Aries, before vedha and ashtakavarga refine it. While the nodes cross Aquarius and Leo, eclipses fall on this axis, and the houses these signs occupy in a chart become restless or active.
The Western view
In Western astrology the North Node in Aquarius is read, in modern evolutionary astrology, as a direction of growth toward community and collective goals, with the South Node in Leo showing what is familiar. Medieval astrology gave the North Node exaltation in Gemini; tropical and sidereal positions differ by about a sign, so check which zodiac a chart uses.
